Transcriptions

What Is a Transcription?

A transcription is a takedown of existing music via notation. An example would be notating a drum part from an existing recording note-for-note.

An arrangement, by contrast, is a conversion/reconceptualization of existing music. An example would be creating an orchestral version of a rock song.

What I Will Transcribe

I specialize in progressive rock/metal, but have experience and am able to transcribe in any genre of music, including but not limited to – orchestra, jazz, electronic, piano, rock, choral, and metal.

I have a particular knack for piano, bass, and drum notation, but am also familiar with the guitar as well as the orchestra. I have perfect pitch, so you can be confident that your transcription will be completed with the utmost accuracy.

Pricing

Pricing will vary depending on the complexity of the music – and as such, accurate pricing details for your project will be available through contact. I will offer full transparency regarding the expected amount of hours needed to complete the transcription, as well as an outline of costs associated with the number of instruments, length of piece, complexity, etc. I do not charge by the hour for trasncriptions – instead, I charge a flat rate.
